Define the operating range

Grundfos' dosing selection tool uses flow, pressure and required functionality as selection inputs. State minimum, normal and maximum dosing flow, each with units, plus operating and maximum expected pressure at the injection point. Distinguish confirmed values from figures awaiting engineering review.

Describe whether dosing is continuous, intermittent or linked to a changing process flow. If you only know daily consumption, provide operating hours and ask your process specialist to confirm the required range before a pump model is selected.

Identify the chemical precisely

Supply the chemical name, product safety data sheet, concentration as used and expected liquid temperature range. If a purchased concentrate is diluted, describe both the supplied product and the intended working solution. Avoid relying on a description such as chlorine chemical or cleaning solution.

Grundfos' chemical resistance guidance makes compatibility dependent on concentration, temperature and operating conditions. Treat tables as initial guidance and request written confirmation for the proposed wetted materials and actual duty, including tubing, seals and connected accessories.

Describe the controls and installation

Identify the available electrical supply and the required control method: local setting, an external pulse or an analogue signal, for example. Send the existing controller's interface details. List required alarm outputs, remote status reporting and any plant shutdown interface for the supplier to review.

Provide the proposed mounting position, approximate distance to the tank and injection point, connection sizes and available space. State whether the location is indoors, outdoors or exposed to washdown. Ask the supplier to identify any missing information that prevents a firm selection rather than silently assume installation conditions.

Compare complete supply boundaries

Request an itemised scope identifying the pump, dosing tank, suction assembly, tubing, injection fittings and any proposed monitoring or protective accessories. Ask which items are included, which require engineering confirmation and who provides installation and commissioning. This makes competing quotations easier to compare.

For a dosing tank, provide usable space, refill arrangements, chemical delivery container size and the proposed operating schedule. Ask for the basis of the selected working volume. Arabian Labs' chemical dosing pumps and chemical dosing tanks are quote-on-request ranges, with final models and materials identified in the quotation.

Example enquiry to adapt

Please propose a dosing pump and compatible tank for our Dubai water-treatment installation. Our engineer's duty sheet gives the dosing range and injection pressure; the chemical data sheet and working concentration are attached. The existing controller provides a pulse output. Please confirm signal compatibility, wetted materials, included accessories and responsibilities for installation and commissioning.

Request delivery arrangements and documentation with the technical offer. If the destination is elsewhere in the GCC, specify the country and site so freight, travel and local access can be agreed against the actual scope.

Your enquiry checklist

  • Minimum, normal and maximum flow with units.
  • Injection pressure and the source of duty calculations.
  • Chemical identity, concentration, temperature and data sheet.
  • Power supply, control signals and alarm requirements.
  • Tank space, connection details and installation responsibilities.

Put the checklist to work.

Send your equipment details, location and required work. We review UAE enquiries first; GCC visits are arranged around the scope, travel and logistics.
